3. Title of the course. The secret hands. Artistic craftsmanship in marble, bronze, mosaics and printmaking.
It is difficult if not impossible to find a place like Pietrasanta in which they are concentrated so many different craft specialties. In the course of centuries, the development of marble have been adding the cast bronze, mosaic, engraving, wire processing, ceramics and others who have shaped the sculpture, ornaments and other assets comprising the art historical, cultural and architectural heritage. Pietrasanta is self-sufficient in the sense that it is possible to find all the crafts through the collaboration of the workshops and develop staff in them traditional techniques, some over 1000 years. It has registered more than 40 workshops in Pietrasanta Artigianart Association, born with the intent to promote, preserve and enhance the value of craft products. Starting from the idea of the project, you can see the end of the work in the field of art, decoration and architecture. The artisans of Pietrasanta are recognized internationally and are an example of high professionalism and competence. Several famous artists known as Botero, Igor Mitorai, Salvador Dali, Sandro Chia and Joan Miró among others, have contributed to the artistic wealth of the place.
